Background:
Faulconer Construction plans to build a new headquarters and
heavy industrial equipment maintenance facility on a 27.37 acre site they purchased off Morgantown Road and Dettor
Road in the Ivy Business Park. This site is zoned for light industrial (LI)
usage. This headquarters would service their projects
in Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Carolinas.
 | Faulconer's Final 2004 site plan:
|
 As
of August 2004, Faulconer Construction has their final site plan
under review by Albemarle County. Faulconer received approval for their
preliminary site plan in 2003. The final site plan will be reviewed
by the Planning Commission on September 7, 2004 and County staff are
recommending their approval of the plan as of August 17, 2004.
The Ivy Community Association is responding as follows:
 | Reviewing all details of the activities proposed for the site. |
 | Received tax-exempt status in August 2003 and is launching a major
fundraising campaign. |
 | Continues to retain Frank Buck as our attorney working on the
project. |
 | Taking the legal battle to the Virginia Supreme Court to appeal the
September 2003 Albemarle County Circuit Court decision against the
community. |
The Ivy Community Association is working very hard on the Faulconer
project and we need your help in the form of
financial support and attendance at upcoming
meetings in 2004. |
"It is our belief that this site design will
open up this heavily wooded site and provide the immediate area with a
park like setting that will help to soften the affect of the other
development that has already occurred near by."
